CHATTAN REPOSSESSTHESKY

SONGS

REPOSSESS THE SKY, PT. 1

All of the overture songs are introduced with Repossess the Sky #: (Title), but for brevity's sake everything before the (first) colon in a song will be excluded. The first 5 parts set up the story, give exposition on the main characters, and establish the setting.

Miller: Predominantly sung by the eponymous Miller, but Chattan appears for the chorus ("Oh alien sleeper, what's that you say?/ Alien sleeper, please take me away/ The others may scoff, but I know it's true/ Park sleeper, I believe you") and is referred to directly in the opening lines.

Jack: Alternates between Jack and Chattan, with Chattan again appearing for the chorus. Jack wakes Chattan up and tells her she needs to get to work, needs to stop buying lottery tickets, and to not jump out her window. It ends with Chattan admitting she knows her dreams of heroism and alien combatants are "just a fantasy," but she can't help but wish they were real.

Cmdr. Drake Starkiller: A complete figment of Chattan's imagination, and thus sung entirely by her. In it, she imagines being a hero (with dashing good looks, rogueish charm, gadgets adorning her mighty arm, etc.) protecting her sidekick (Jack) and saving the lady (Constantina) from various threats. The name Drake is later used by Miller to refer to Chattan.

Nina: Jack narrates as he encourages Chattan to go up and talk to Constantina, aka Nina, a woman Chattan fancies. He tells her her problem is confidence, and that "everytime that this girl talks / to you / you just freeze up / and you die." Later, Chattan gets knocked out by Nina's boyfriend Johnny, and Jack claims he meant to stand up for Chattan but everything happened to fast, as well as stroking her ego a bit for good measure.

Song of the C: Fantastical imaginings of the newly concussed Chattan, attempting to recollect what happened that night. She reaches the conclusion singing pirates came in and abducted the lady (who she also mysteriously refers to as the Governor's daughter. Who the hell is the Governor?).

REPOSSESS THE SKY, PT. 2

The story ramps up! Chattan, now drunk and concussed, has to juggle the provocation from Nina and the space pirates returning to Earth.

Estavez Park: Chattan comes to, immediately eager to go rescue the lady despite Jack's best attempts at dissuasion. Ultimately, Jack goes along with her, but not before his hesitance convinces Chattan her adversaries have brainwashed him. She concludes they have to go reconvene with Miller to fix him up. She can't lose her best sidekick!

Trunk: Chattan knocks out Jack and stuffs him into the Malibu's trunk. Narrated by Jack, as he flashbacks to what happened that night and overhears Miller and Chattan talking.

Col. Hyde Terafoil: Narrated contrapuntally by Johnny and Constantina. The two are followed by the Malibu containing Chattan and co. as they walk home from the bar. Chattan confronts the two of them, resulting in Connie running off (by Johnny's instruction), her and Johnny fighting, and Johnny's death.

Return of Malibu: The alien pirates have returned to Earth to confront Miller and his protégé, Chattan. Narrated by Chattan and the pirates alternatingly between verses, with Miller narrating a bridge-like part. Also a reprise of Flight of Malibu, pt. 3: Earth vs Aforementioned Aliens. Notably, Chattan erroneously ascribes Johnny to the ranks of pirate, assuming the pirates will be as easy to defeat as a normal human was. Gulp....

Flight of Malibu 5: Oddyssey: Miller and the Captain, the narrators, are revealed to have been double-crossing just about everyone else involved in this mess. Chattan, and presumably Connie too, are dead. The Captain instructs Miller to hide their bodies.

In the reversed speech, we are informed "Having snuck past the federation agents and successfully smuggled a time machine to pre-space colony Earth, Ogocotu [Miller?] and the Kasahirsizi [the Capitain?] greet their past and future counterparts [the Captain is another version of Jack. Miller's Jack equivalent, Rick Evans, is presumably off somewhere else being Rick Evans.], and prepare to travel to sixty-thousand BC to begin the process anew."

COMPATRIOTS

MILLER

Miller is the name of a homeless man living in Estavez Park that mentors Chattan to help her defeat evil space pirates. He was once one of these space pirates, until he was marooned on Earth ten years prior while arguing they shouldn't destroy it; for more information listen to Flight of Malibu.

He's one of two demons that's fated Chattan et al. into a reincarnation cycle. He's also manipulating her into helping him with the odd double-crossing and other such schemes.

Known aliases/alternate versions: Miller, Grinder, Rick Evans.

JACK

Chattan's best friend and trusted sidekick! He gives Chattan really helpful advice like not spending money on lotto tickets and, instead, just giving it to him. And he has absolutely zero ulterior motives about the whole thing and is generally a normal human guy.

Speaking seriously, however, Jack is the other of the two demons that fated Chattan into the reincarnation cycle. His motives are, presumably, at least somewhat ulterior.

Known aliases/alternate versions: Jack, Delfacator, the Captain.

CONSTANTINA

Very little is known about Constantina, the incarnation of Constance we see in Repossess.

Known aliases/alternate versions: Constantina, Connie, Nina, Constance.

JOHNNY

Dejected hero. Chattan's narrative foil. Little else is known about this incarnation of him.

Forgive the outdated icon, please.

SPACE PIRATES

A group of, you guessed it, pirates from, you guessed it!, space. This treacherous band of foes is surely no match for our swashbuckling commander.

Tend to lean fashy or, at the very least, reactionary, citing a "life of quiet dignity [they]'ve earned" as motivating their Earthly conquest.

THE CAPTAIN

An alternate version of Jack, double-crosser, and general scoundrel.

WHOZZAT

Chattan Repossessthesky, also known as Commander Drake Starkiller, is the main character/narrator of the rock opera Repossess the Sky, a duology of albums by Regdar and the Fighters, which is also a spin-off to The Ballad of Constance and Johnny and a sequel to Flight of Malibu.

Chattan is a "fantastical young man" of a rather Quixotic disposition who works at a Duracell factory and enjoys 1980s punk bands such as Iggy Pop and Dead Kennedys. She believes that she has an inherent heroicism that would manifest given the opportunity; this is exploited by various miscreants (notably, Jack/the Captain and Miller) in their devilish schemes. SAD.

She has NPD and some sort of psychosis in essentially all but name.

In regards to "spin-off of The Ballad of Constance and Johnny," as if being manipulated by aliens from space wasn't enough, she's also a Peter incarnation! Which just means she's also fated to fall in love with Constance and kill Johnny, the other two saps roped into the reincarnation cycle. Quite unfortunate!

Known aliases/alternate versions: Chattan!, Peter.
