I have a LOT of OCs, but by and large they fall relatively neatly into these four and a half stories.
(Story icons by my friend Nifty!)
A Portrait of Somebody Who Asked; or, True Crime and EpizeuxisThe Author, a writer well known in nicher crowds, has become solitary and paranoid in the past few weeks as deadlines for books and recompenses approach. Surprising her publisher and her agent/older brother, she suddenly announces her book is ready to be edited and invites them to a dinner party celebrating the occasion.
When her four total guests arrive, they discover her dead - and slowly realize it had to have been foul play.
Breaking Point: Where Can I Go To be Me?Dr. Pierce Wells is a middle class scientist living the ideal circa 1985 USAmerican lifestyle, who's learned it's best not to rock the boat when it comes to anything. What's she to do when her unruly provocateur of a high school best friend starts creeping back into her life?
Also known as "Breaking Point".
"NBWverse"So dubbed because of its characters' main inspirations being Nuclear Bubble Wrap songs, NBWverse is an umbrella term for two OC stories that happen in the same universe; the high school sitcom Back to School and the sci-fi epic Team Science!.
Back to School is a story about a bunch of teenagers at the worst high school ever, navigating your typical high school plights, like being a pyromaniac, or being in an oppressive comedy band, or your parents owning the pollution factory, or being a clone of a dead heavy metal musician. Y'know, the usual stuff.
Team Science! starts in modern day, and follows two mad scientists (Dr. Rosa Pinkerton and Dr. Pandora Yellowson), their invention of a time machine, and the very, very convoluted aftermath.
Both of these nest further into more and more specific subdivisions, but that's not important right now.
Self-TitledDepressed, repressed, and traumatized starving artist Beck Stanton attempts to kill herself, and instead re-experiences various childhood memories as a ghost.
AKA "S/T".
